The What is Catholicism course (otherwise known as OCIA) gives you the opportunity to explore Catholic teaching and ritual through conversation, prayer, and study in community with your peers. This course is for adults and children over 7 years old.
Classes meet weekly from September-April on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM at St. Monica St. George (Tuesday is our main session; there is a secondary session on Sunday nights at 6:30pm for those who can't make Tuesday). The first class for the 2025/2026 year is on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Participants who complete the whole course can be initiated into the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil Mass with the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.
